School of the Year Standings Entering First ACA Event of 2020

SAN ANTONIO, TX (February 21, 2020) – Temperatures are warming, bass are moving shallow, and the race for Bass Pro Shops School of the Year presented by Abu Garcia is continuing to tighten. First place Adrian College has held the top spot for a good majority of the year, and the top five has also remained steady to this point in the season. The most notable move in this update pertains to the University of Montevallo, as they leapfrog Murray State to stake claim to third. With the top four teams separated by less than 450 points, the next few weeks will be crucial to the School of the Year race.

Since the previous update to the standings for the 2019-2020 Bass Pro Shops School of the Year presented by Abu Garcia, a major FLW College Series event was held on Lake Seminole. 750 points went to the winning school in Bethel University, and several teams in the top 25 for School of the Year also earned valuable points. The biggest mover was Georgetown College located in Kentucky. They earned 725 points and moved from 38th up to 22nd. One other big mover was the University of Tennessee as they crack the top 10.

This weekend, the Association of Collegiate Anglers will host its first event of the 2020 season. That event is the Texas Lunker Challenge presented by Mossy Oak Fishing. Set to take place on Sunday, February 23rd, the Texas Lunker Challenge is a one-day big bass format event that will award double points to teams with multiple anglers inside of the top 75. With less than 500 points separating first and fourth place, the race for Bass Pro Shops School of the Year presented by Abu Garcia will be at the center of every conversation taking place on the banks of Sam Rayburn Reservoir this weekend.
