In front of crowds estimated in the thousands, Lake Havasu City, Arizona pro Dean Rojas brought in a limit weighing 11 pounds 14 ounces to retake the poll position with 38 pounds 6 ounces going into Championship Sunday. Rojas bumped Jasper, Texas pro Todd Faircloth into the number 2 spot for Day 4. Faircloth brought in 3 fish today for 7 pounds 14 ounces, two bass shy of his limit.

Within striking distance in 3rd is Missile Baits pro Ish Monroe with 31 pounds 11 ounces. Sitting in the 4 spot is Terry Scroggins with 31 pounds 6 ounces. In 5th going into the final day is Ardmore, Oklahoma pro Jeff Kriet with 30 pounds 6 ounces.

Rojas snuck in five.

“It was a grind today,” said Rojas. I ran about 50 miles today. There are a lot of keepers in the area I am fishing. It was tough for me today. I lost several key fish. I’m moving around flipping a Big Bite Fighting Frog in the wood. I caught my fifth and final keeper with 15 minutes left in my day.

“I sure would like it to be my week. I worked so hard to make the first cut, and then make the final cut and head into the championship day with the lead. I just need to go out and catch them tomorrow.”

Faircloth catching shorts.

“I just don’t know what happened out there today,” said Faircloth. “I went out with a lot of confidence in what I was doing. I caught a lot more fish today, but most of them were shorts. They just wouldn’t measure.

“I’m gonna go back out tomorrow and see what I can get. I think the winning fish are in the area I’m fishing. I’d like nothing more than to win this event in Texas.”

Ish fishing consistent.

“I’m catching keepers,” said Monroe. “I had 30 bites or more and over half of them were keepers. I’m not changing my baits for tomorrow. I did switch from a Missile Craw to a D-Bomb. I also caught fish on Ish’s Phat Frog and Bling Spinnerbait.

“I just need to catch a big one or two. I can’t leave the area I am fishing. There are too many fish.”

Scroggins missed fish.
“I took off and made a long run again today,” said Scroggins. “I looked at my Smart Craft gauges coming back in wondering if I was going to have enough fuel. I had two gallons left when I got back.

“There are a whole bunch of fish left for me tomorrow. I swung and missed 7 or 8 today. I know where they are.”

Kriet didn’t get ’em.

“I need a few big fish bites,” said Kriet. “I think the big fish are starting to come up on beds. I missed a bunch today. There are enough fish left. I think I missed every bass in there four times. They were either acting real funny or I sucked.”
