A beautiful morning for a tournament, with a red sky maybe promising a not so nice end to the day. Big winds are supposed to descend on the bay of Green Bay this afternoon, with small craft warnings expected later in the day along with rain.
Anglers reporting tough fishing conditions as bites are sporadic. The West Shore seems to be the area that is holding the most consistent biters, yet the long run with deteriorating conditions has the field scrambling for spots closer to Sturgeon Bay should it turn particularly nasty. Stay tuned as we’ll have coverage of the weigh-in this afternoon, which might determine the winner, as Friday might have to be cancelled due to safety concerns. Tournament permits will not be issued for a Saturday of a holiday weekend, so possibly looking at a 1 day shoot out here.
