NEW at ICAST 2022: Innovative Shimano Lures for Bass Anglers

Technologically Advanced Swimbaits and Spinnerbaits Target Trophy Fish

Serious bass anglers pursuing championship-caliber fish need every advantage to secure victory. At ICAST 2022, Shimano introduces two highly refined lures – the ARMAJOINT 190SF FLASH BOOST swimbait and the Swagy Strong family of spinnerbaits – designed to tip the odds in every angler’s favor and put trophy bass in the boat.

Shimano’s unique ARMAJOINT 190SF solves the challenges of casting a big jointed swimbait in search of trophy fish. Lure engineers leverage Shimano’s proprietary all-new ARMA BOOST technology to significantly increase casting distance and accuracy by reducing unnecessary air resistance and the chances of the lure spinning during flight. As the angler casts the lure, ARMA BOOST technology facilitates the lure to disconnect from an internal magnet and forces the body to fold into its compact shape. Once the lure hits the water, the lure’s body reengages with the magnet to create a smooth and natural swimming action. ARMAJOINT also features Shimano’s proprietary FLASH BOOST technology that constantly emits a fish-attracting flash during the retrieve — even on the pause — by suspending a reflective foil on micro springs to mimic the flashing behavior of an injured baitfish. The ARMAJOINT 190SF is a versatile lure that can be retrieved fast or slow, enabling anglers to vary their retrieve depending on the situation. The ARMAJOINT will normally swim in an S-pattern, but the bait will not flare out when stopped due to the fold in its body. Anglers can slow the retrieve and pause the ARMAJOINT 190SF to capitalize on the lure’s natural slow-rising action. Designed with purpose by leveraging innovation and technology, the ARMAJOINT 190SF improves angler performance while drawing strikes from tournament-winning bass. Each ARMAJOINT 190SF weighs 1 ⅞ oz (73 g), is 7 ½-inches (190 mm) in length, and dives up to 1 foot on the retrieve. Available in five colors – Ghost Trout, S Gizzard, ST BW Shad, N Hasu and ST Purple – ARMAJOINT 190SF FLASH BOOST has an MSRP of $42.99.

Swagy Strong

Shimano’s Swagy Strong spinnerbait incorporates an innovative tapered-wire design for added toughness without sacrificing performance, ideal for hooking fish at the end of a long cast or in deeper water. The lower arm’s thicker (1mm) wire improves hookup ratios and adds durability for increased angler confidence when hooking into the fish of a lifetime. Swagy Strong’s upper arm tapers to a thinner (0.9 mm) wire that enables the lure’s specially-designed blades to transmit more vibration through the water. Swagy Strong offers two distinct blade configurations with the goal of ultimate vibration and toughness: double willow-leaf blades (DW) and a single willow leaf combined with one Colorado blade (TW). The shape of the blade’s front cup creates a faster rise and enables the lure to quickly run true while intensifying vibration, whether an angler wants to slow-roll through cover or burn the bait for aggressive strikes. Both blade configurations are available in two weights – ⅜ oz (10 g) and ½ oz (14 g) – and a library of 6 color patterns: Black Gold, Chart White, Natural Bait, Pink Smelt, Tidal Killer and White. Shimano’s Swagy Strong spinnerbait has an MSRP of $13.99.
