Mary Christy becomes an AT Brand Ambassador!

Welcome, Mary Christy of the Decorative Studio!
We are excited to announce Mary Christy has become an official AT Brand Ambassador!! “She is an amazing fit for what American Tackle Co stands for. Her knowledge and ability to teach others this amazing craft is something we are excited about,” says Kevin Landers, Marketing Manager of American Tackle Co.

Since her start back in 2011, Mary Christy has built hundreds of rods — mostly for surf, pier, and offshore fishing, but occasionally builds custom rods for freshwater.

In 2015, along with her husband Wes, Mary started the Facebook group The Southern Rod Builders — to provide educational information through gatherings, daily Q&A, tutorials, and live videos. The pair enjoy teaching as much as building and wanted to provide newcomers a place where they could come for information. In 2021. Mary launched The Women’s Rod Building Alliance group on Facebook to teach and get more women involved in the rod building community. Mary is looking forward to the future possibilities of being able to teach the community, build one-of-a-kind custom rods, and also continue teaching “All things decorative” in the rod building world. We are excited to be a part of Mary’s teaching journey and show her amazing work!
