Texas Proposes Expanding Zone to Contain CWD

The discovery of some diseased white-tail deer near a containment area caused the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department to propose expansion of a south-central Texas zone.
The state has been vigilant in monitoring and testing for chronic wasting disease in deer populations from a variety of locations. Due to their efforts, the disease has not spread outside of the existing containment zones (CZ) in the past year.
