Registration for Bass Pro Shops Outdoor Fitness Fest Begins Feb. 10
SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – Pre-registration and early bird rates for 2015 Bass Pro Shops Outdoor Fitness Festival begin Feb. 10 at noon. Those who want to participate can register online for Outdoor Fitness Festival events including the Oct. 4 Tour De Bass, Dogwood Canyon Trail Runs, set for Oct. 17-18, and the Conservation Marathon, slated for Oct. 30 to Nov. 1.
“Our Conservation Marathon, Dogwood Canyon Trail Runs and other Fitness Festival events are expected to sell out fast,” said Martin Mac Donald, chairman of the Outdoor Fitness Festival and Bass Pro Shops director of conservation. “The Conservation Marathon has become a really popular event that draws runners from across the country. Last year we had 4,200 runners from 45 states.”
The Conservation Marathon, which is listed in the top 50 ‘Most Beautiful Marathons’ in the United States, begins and ends at Bass Pro Shops flagship superstore in Springfield, Missouri. The weekend event includes a 2-mile Camo Fun Run, 5K race, Marathon-Relay, full and half marathons, and a two-day health and wellness expo.
The Dogwood Canyon Trail Run Weekend is set within the Dogwood Canyon Nature Park and offers a one-of-a-kind running experience that features hills, streams and more. Dogwood Canyon is a natural paradise with over 10,000 acres that provide a variety of trails for 50K/25K/15K trail runs.
Other Outdoor Fitness Festival events include:
Paint the Run/Walk – An April 25 event offering kids the chance to participate in races ranging from .25 miles to 1.5 miles while being painted all the wonderful colors of the world.
Tour De Bass – Opportunity to cycle through the scenic Ozark countryside Sunday on Oct. 4.
Zombie Run/Walk – An Oct. 24 event for kids with races ranging from .25 miles to 1.5 miles and a chance to enjoy a fun day at Rutledge-Wilson Farm Park’s “Fall Festival.”
Wellness Conference – This Oct. 29 event, hosted at the White River Conference Center, focuses on how businesses can best use wellness programs to support their employees while increasing the effectiveness of business.
