Bow hunters can get a jump-start on the deer hunting season as early as mid-September. For those with firearms, the season begins the first part of November. Muzzle loaders have a brief window of opportunity at the beginning of December.

Lake of the Woods has a vast deer population, and with thousands of acres of public hunting land for use, between the South Shore and NW Angle, many hunters have made LOW their hunting destination. But where do you stay? Deer camps are a tradition of many hunters over the years, some making their own traditions right here. Many of our resorts and lodging facilities are open during the hunting season, and with great deals to spare!

Take advantage of these lodging opportunities, and make Lake of the Woods your very own annual tradition, deer camp included. Some of the resorts have guided hunts available to get you started. Whether you are headed north during MEA weekend for youth season, September for bow season, November rifle season, or December muzzle loader; Lake of the Woods is sure to have just what you are looking for!
