Bass Pro Shops is providing customers a chance to join in supporting the Quality Deer Management Association (QDMA) throughout June. Thanks to a round up campaign at all Bass Pro Shops locations across the U.S., customers are invited to donate their change to help QDMA’s mission of ensuring the future of white-tailed deer, wildlife habitat and our hunting heritage.

Customer round up donations will support QDMA’s conservation efforts in the United States and Canada and its critical role as the leading advocate for the management of deer and protection of deer-hunting. QDMA will receive 100 percent of the money customers donate at the cash register, and Bass Pro Shops will make a contribution at the end of the month, matching 50 percent of the donated total.

“The continued support we have received from Bass Pro Shops has been extremely beneficial to our organization, allowing us to implement important programs and activities focused on introducing young people to hunting,” said Brian Murphy, CEO of QDMA. “Programs like our National Youth Hunt and Share Your Hunt™ were created and have blossomed thanks to the backing of Bass Pro Shops, removing barriers previously limiting our ability to get as many eager hunters afield as possible.”

Since its founding in 1988, QDMA has worked to inform its members and deer hunters about the benefits of the Quality Deer Management philosophy through education, research and advocacy. Bass Pro Shops has long supported QDMA and its education programs and activities, including National Youth Hunt and Share Your Hunt™, designed to get kids and more people interested in hunting; the award-winning e-book, QDMA’s Guide to Successful Deer Hunting; and educational programs like QDMA in the Classroom and Living with White-Tailed Deer, which offer conservation curriculum to both schools and local communities.

Johnny Morris has made giving back to conservation a hallmark of Bass Pro Shops since he first began selling fishing tackle in the back of his dad’s liquor store in 1972. Over the course of several decades, Morris has dedicated himself to inspiring everyone, especially youth and families, to enjoy, love and conserve the great outdoors. One way that Bass Pro Shops works on behalf of conservation is by supporting the efforts of nonprofit conservation organizations that share a desire to tackle key conservation initiatives such as fish and wildlife habitat improvements, conservation and outdoor skills education, improving the quality of our lakes, rivers and springs, and conservation advocacy.
