Minnetonka, MN – Toyota Trucks has joined the MWC as the official tow vehicle of the World’s premier team-format walleye fishing circuit – the Masters Walleye Circuit. Toyota has had a number of SUVs and several trucks in their line up over the years; but the new Tundra for 2007 will be a tow vehicle that will not only tow the anglers’ 4,000-5,000 pound Ranger Boat rig, but the 10,000 pound MWC tournament trailer rig.”The new Tundra will be a truck to rival any other tow vehicle,” shared Kristine Houtman, director of the MWC. “We travel with a 26-foot tournament trailer loaded with our stage, scales, fish handling tanks and all of our computer equipment for running the tournament – and we need a serious tow vehicle. The new Toyota Tundra will do that for us.”Toyota plans to wrap the new official Tundra with state-of-the-art MWC/Toyota graphics. “We know how many trucks the MWC anglers own – and we want them to seriously consider Toyota the next time they are in the market to purchase a new truck,” shared Donna Peplansky, Toyota Heartland Strategy Manager. To that end, Toyota is offering a contingency pay-back program for the anglers in the MWC.For each qualifying tournament during the season, including the exhibition tournament and Walleye Madness, there will be a $1,000 cash bonus “Toyota Angler Award” for the top finishing Toyota Truck owner towing his tournament rig with a 2006 or newer Toyota truck. The bonus will grow to $2,500 for the Championship – which will start at the Fall 2006 Cabela’s MWC World Walleye Championship in Prairie du Chien. “We are happy to offer this contingency cash as an added incentive for anglers who drive Toyota Tundras,” offered Peplansky.”As a professional angler, I’ve been using a Toyota truck for my tow vehicle for the last 4 years – and I love it,” shared Pat Neu, from Forestville, Wisconsin. “The Tundra is the best truck I have ever owned and I have owned several other brands. The Tundra can compete with any other truck; just test drive one to see. Toyota’s engineering gives the Tundra the torque, power and performance that will out tow the competition.” Neu is a big fan of the Tundra – owning two – one for himself and one for his wife. “She wouldn’t give her Toyota Tundra up anymore than I would! She loves it, too,” shared Neu.Over 80 percent of the parts of a Toyota Tundra are made in America, and Toyota Tundra is assembled in Indiana now and will expand to their new plant in Texas in 2007. Toyota has made a strategic decision to come to the best place in the world for the best workers in the world..America.to make their trucks. Their new state-of-the-art facility is opening just outside of San Antonio, Texas. Cabela’s is the title sponsor for the Masters Walleye Circuit. Official Sponsors are Lindy Legendary Tackle, Mercury Motors, Outdoor Life Network (OLN), Ranger Boats, MotorGuide, Lowrance Electronics, the North American Fishing Club and now Toyota. Associate sponsors are Salmo Performance Lures, Panther Marine-Tech Products, Tommy Docks, The Inhibitor, Food Source Lures, Ice Armor, Pennzoil Marine, Farm and City Insurance Services and Walleye Central.
