Todd Riley came to Winnibigoshish leading in the AIM Angler Of the Year race, and solidified that lead considerably today taking a commanding day one lead with 34.23 pounds. Todd said the fishing he has experienced on Winnie has been fantastic, and lends itself to his preferred techniques perfectly.

John Schneider came in with a CRR total of 26.81 to hold down second place. David A Andersen is just a bit further back in third with 26.09. Jason Przekurat holds fourth with 23.99, Jim Caroll fifth with 22.99, Jesse Buechel sixth with 22.06, Marty Glorvigen seventh with 21.66, David Anderson eighth with 19.10, Aaron Deal is in ninth with 18.63, and rounding out the top ten is Gil Mollet with 18.29.

The bite was reportedly varied, ranging from a deep live bait bite to a weed and crankbait combination. Many of the Pros feel the bigger fish are in transition moving from the deep to associated shallower structure. All feel the big fish should go better with the stable weather the next two days, and with the CRR format, a few big fish bites could transform the leader board from the top to the bottom.

The Pros will hit the water tomorrow at 8 AM Central tomorrow morning. Watch for live coverage to begin tomorrow morning with AIM’s signature on the water video and much more!
