The Masters Walleyes Circuit (MWC) headed to Devils Lake, ND for their 2014 World Walleye Championship event. Not only was the fishing spectacular, members of the National Professional Anglers Association (NPAA) held a Future Angler event following the day two weigh-in.

As the Future Anglers watched the weigh-in, which was arguably the largest 5 fish bags to cross the stage for an event held on Devils Lake, they had other things on their mind. They were thinking about the rod/reel combos and the Future Pro-t-shirts that they were about to receive during their educational and active kids fishing clinic.

Following the day two weigh-in, the future anglers learned about Aquatic Nuisance Species (ANS), different species of fish, on the water safety and the kids stated what they loved most about fishing. A big hit at this event was the “backyard bass” that they kids enjoyed catching in the grass covered field behind the weigh-in stage.

The kids were taught how to successfully cast to the “backyard bass” and reel them in utilizing their rod/reel combo that was given to them courtesy of the NPAA Future Angler Foundation.
NPAA Members and MWC Anglers that helped out with the event were: Spencer Deutz #552, Curtis Oliver #856 and Ron Deutz.
