New York Mills, Minn. (April 19, 2012) – Quick, name the most enduring, legendary walleye tournament icon of all time.

If you said Gary Roach, you were on the right course. Al Lindner? Ted Takasaki? Mike Gofron? Scott & Marty Glorvigen? You’re getting warmer. Here’s a hint, this icon is tough as nails and exhibits some impressive eye-candy. Plus, he… or, ah, it’s the fastest, smoothest operator on the water. Oh, and one other thing- it’s famous for sniffing out the hottest walleye bites on the waves. Dead giveaway, right?

Congratulations, if you said ‘Lund Boats.’ Which is exactly what every Lund-running angler on North America’s two most prestigious walleye tournament trails will aspire to when the season officially launches this week.

Beginning Thursday, April 19, as the FLW Walleye Tour kicks off its season at Red Wing, Minn., Lund Boats is sweetening the prize package. Likewise, on the AIM Pro Walleye Series, Lund will raise the stakes this year, offering special contingency bonuses at each of the circuit’s four events.

The 2012 Lund Tournament Bonus program works like this:

Run a 2009-2012 model year Lund, and win an FLW or AIM event, and Lund writes you a nice fat $6,000 check*. Run a 2008 model year or older, and receive a check for $3,000*. Now, here’s where things get interesting. Pull off winning Angler of the Year titles on either circuit, and Lund will crack open the piggybank, doling out a cool $10,000*. Just think, you could even make a clean sweep of both circuits (never know, it could happen) and walk away with an extra $74,000 in your wallet, thanks to your friends at Lund.

“Lund Boats boast one of the richest winning traditions in walleye tournament history,” says Lund marketing manager, Tony Kolker. “It’s no accident that some of the sport’s top names on both the FLW and AIM walleye circuits continue to choose Lund. All of our tournament-ready rigs, such as the Pro-V series are designed, configured and built with hands-on help from legendary Lund pros.

“It’s part of what separates Lund from the field, and why we continue to support these prestigious circuits. Lund pros put their boats through the most extreme conditions. When they come to us with feedback, we listen. Our engineers take note, too, devising adjustments and enhancements such as our exclusive Prolong Plus Livewell. There’s a reason Lund pros weigh the healthiest and liveliest limits of walleyes,” Kolker added.

“The way I see it, these special bonuses are just one more way of rewarding our loyal Team Lund anglers. Of course, the real winners are every one of our customers-from weekend anglers to families who run a Lund Boat.”

Visit lundboats.com to shop Lund’s full selection of fishing boats. More features. Lund quality and craftsmanship. More fish in the livewell. All for a lot less money than you’d expect.

*FLW/AIM angler must be fishing out of a Lund boat during the event in which the $6,000 or $3,000 contingency bonus is awarded.

**To qualify for the FLW or AIM Angler of the Year bonuses, competitor must fish out of a Lund boat during the entire 2012 season.
