‘Fish Now.  Do Everything Else Later.’
Great Advice from St. Croix Rod Company

Forestville, WI – This northern Wisconsin fishing rod company has been handcrafting rods for over 65 years.  The advice offered, “Fish Now.  Do Everything Else Later,” is one they follow in most situations.  However, because anglers depend on their fishing rods, the St. Croix company also lives by their motto: “Best Rods on Earth.”

St. Croix is the newest fishing industry supporting partner with the National Professional Anglers Association.  Jeff Schluter, vice-president – brand management, said, “St. Croix is proud to be aligned with the NPAA.  We support NPAA’s mission to grow the sport of fishing and enhance the professional development of its members.  We look forward to working together for the benefit of NPAA members and the fishing community as a whole.”

Pat Neu, NPAA executive director has seen St. Croix grow into an international powerhouse with technologies that continue to advance performance.  “Our organization welcomes St. Croix, and we are proud to be working together.”  Neu recognized that from the beginning when the original owners created transportable bamboo cane poles by cutting them into sections and adding brass ferrules, to today’s elite fishing rods for all species, this is a company with a proven track record.

Some of those technologies include IPC, or integrated poly curve, which eliminates transitional points and features smoother actions, increased strength and greater sensitivity.  ART is advanced reinforcing technology which is an exotic carbon fiber material that adds a magnitude of 10-times of strength to rods with virtually no increase in blank diameter or weight.

Taper enhancement technology, TET, leads to computerized rod blank pattern-cutting which creates better rod action and improved sensitivity.  FRS is a fortified resin system that combines a super-resin with computer-controlled curing ovens throughout the curing process and produces rods that consistently test out 33 percent stronger than those built with standard resins and curing methods.

St. Croix honors and awards are legendary, and include the ICAST new product showcase awards for best freshwater rod (LegendXtreme) and best saltwater rod (Legend Inshore) in 2012.  In 2013, the company won the best saltwater rod for their Legend Xtreme Inshore series.  Perhaps that’s why their website also describes the sport all NPAA members love with this phrase, “Fishing.  It’s not rocket science.  It’s much more important than that.”
