CABELA’S NATIONAL WALLEYE TOUR HEADS TO STURGEON BAY WISCONSIN, JULY 26-27

MOUNTAIN HOME, Ark. (July 22, 2013) – Competitive walleye anglers will converge on Sturgeon Bay, Wis., July 26-27, as the Cabela’s National Walleye Tour continues their inaugural season on Lake Michigan. The all-new tournament circuit features a pro-am style format and guarantees over 100% payback.

The Sturgeon Bay event begins Thursday, July 25, with tournament registration from 2-4 p.m. at The Lodge at Leatham Smith, (1640 Memorial Dr., Sturgeon Bay, WI 54235) with a mandatory pre-tournament meeting set to start at 5:00 p.m. Pro and co-angler pairings will be announced at the pre-tournament meeting.

Anglers will launch Friday and Saturday mornings at 7 a.m. from The Lodge at Leatham Smith and return to the lodge for the weigh-ins each day. Weigh-in will start at 3:00 pm each day.

On Saturday, July 27, event attendees can take to the water with Evinrude/Ranger Test Rides from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. In addition to purchase incentives, the first 50 participants will receive a free TESTRIDE t-shirt.

The National Professional Anglers Association will also host a NPAA Future Angler program for children after Saturday’s weigh-in (approx. 4:30 p.m.), featuring educational seminars and training for youth from top-notch NPAA members. The youth-orientated event will include a free rod and reel combo and “Future Pro” t-shirt for the first 100 children present at the event.

National Walleye Tour anglers who are participating in any of the numerous contingency prize programs are encouraged to submit all pertinent information before the event to remain eligible for any potential bonus money. A fully rigged Ranger Boat, plus cash, is guaranteed for first place at each NWT event – a total value of $57,000. Anglers that have fished all three regular season events, in addition to the top points leaders, will qualify for the three day, entry-fee Championship taking place September 19-21 on Devils Lake, North Dakota.

The new circuit also includes unprecedented television and media coverage, allowing a national audience to watch the action unfold from each event throughout the season. Airing on multiple networks, the National Walleye Tour will be seen on World Fishing Network, and Pursuit Channel, as well as the new NBC Sports Network.
