MOUNTAIN HOME, Ark. (April 19, 2013) – With the 2013 season opener in Red Wing, Minn., set for April 26-27, the Cabela’s National Walleye Tour (NWT) announces the Angler- and Co-Angler-of-the-Year awards program presented by Lucas Oil. The winning anglers will receive custom rings and paid entry fees for the 2014 season. Designed exclusively for the NWT Angler and Co-Angler of the Year, the rings will be provided by NWT sponsor Lucas Oil.

The program, designed to reward the most consistent anglers over the course of the 2013 season, awards points at each regular season event based upon an angler’s finish. 200 points will be given to the winner of each event, with 199 awarded for second place, 198 for third place, etc. All anglers who receive weight credit will receive points. The top 40 pro and co-anglers, based upon overall point standings, will qualify for the 2013 Championship on Devils Lake, September 19-21.

The all-new National Walleye Tour includes a total of three qualifying events, plus a year-end championship. The NWT website is currently accepting registrations for all events online. The website offers numerous details on the circuit; including official rules, tournament structure, payout and incentives.

Each NWT event features over 100% payback. A fully rigged Ranger Boat, plus cash, is guaranteed for first place at each event – a total value of $57,000. Anglers that fish all three regular season events, in addition to the top points leaders, will qualify for the three day, entry-fee Championship.

The new circuit also includes unprecedented television and media coverage, allowing a national audience to watch the action unfold from each event throughout the season. Airing on multiple networks, the National Walleye Tour will be seen on The Texas Channel, World Fishing Network, Pursuit Channel, as well as the new NBC Sports Network.
