The jerkbait is commonly associated with bass fishing, but these iconic lures are also deadly effective on a host of other species including river trout. The key to getting the most from these baits is to insure there is slack in the line before twitching the rod tip. Slack insures that the jerkbait will dart and change directions in an erratic matter, creating a deadly effective “dying minnow” presentation.
