The official winners of the 43rd annual Bluewater Anglers Salmon Derby have been announced. More than 1,000 anglers from southwestern Ontario, as well as Nashville and Scotland, took part in the 10-day event, which ended May 12. Officials say a total of 1,622 fish from the waters of the upper St. Clair River and lower Lake Huron were entered, the second highest number in the past ten years.

The official winners are:

– Robert Brunet, Sarnia, Salmon category, 19.01 lb.

– Brian Dubreuil, Sarnia, Trout-Boat category, 9.90 lb. rainbow

– Harry Harris, Sarnia, Trout-Shore category, 7.40 lb. rainbow

– Justin Tadgell, Grand Bend, Lake Trout category, 20.36 lb.

– Tammy Milne, Lambton Shores, Walleye category, 7.56 lb.

– Evan Hanington, Ailsa Craig, Kids Big Fish Winner, 15.44 lb. salmon

– Lisa Tadgell, Port Franks, Ladies Day Winner, 14.92 lb. lake trout

– Ed Oelke, London, Seniors Day Winner, 14.86 lb. lake trout
