Bass, Musky and Deer Proposals Aired at Spring Hearing

A proposal to improve smallmouth bass and musky fishing on the Namekagon and St. Croix Rivers and another proposal to restrict deer hunters to seven cartridges per firearm were among the locally-introduced resolutions introduced for a vote Monday, April 8, at the annual meeting of the Sawyer County Conservation Congress and Department of Natural Resources fish and game rules hearing.

About 40 people attended the hearing at Hayward High School, plus five Conservation Congress members, three youth members and five DNR staff.
