Plano, IL (February 27, 2014) – Doug Koenig has been shooting competitively since 1989. His remarkable record of diverse championship wins has earned him the title of ‘World’s Best All Around Shooter’.
Koenig has dominated competitive pistol shooting for the last fifteen years, but has earned national and world championship titles in pistol, shotgun, and rifle events, including 20 Masters International Championships, 3 World Speed Shooting Championships, an IPSC World Championship, 5 World Action Pistol Championships, 17 Sportsman’s Team Challenge Championships, a World All-Around Championship, and 15 National Action Pistol (Bianchi Cup) Championships.
Koenig is also a very skilled and experienced hunter and hosts “Doug Koenig’s Championship Season” on Pursuit and Sportsman Channel. The popular program chronicles a year in Doug’s life by allowing viewers to look in on his championship range preparation time, his championship hunting preparation time, and takes them along on his world level matches and exciting hunts around the world.
Firearms are key to Koenig’s livelihood. “I travel the world with my guns,” he says. “If they don’t arrive safely, I can’t do my job – whether it’s competing for another title or filming a hunt for my show,” he continues. “My firearms and gear require the ultimate in protection.”
To this end, Koenig and Plano Molding Company — makers of the world’s most extensive line of hard and soft gun cases – are excited to announce an agreement that will result in ‘The World’s Best All Around Shooter’ using Plano cases exclusively for safe and secure transport of his firearms. Koenig will also represent the Plano brand at his numerous shooting competitions.
“I’ve been using Plano products for years,” says Koenig, who is anxiously awaiting the delivery of the company’s brand new line of
Field Locker® Mil-Spec Cases early this summer. The premium, highly engineered five case series debuted at the 2014 SHOT Show and was enthusiastically received by industry retailers and outdoors media professionals. The series consists of two pistol cases and three long gun cases.
“I had a chance to take a close look at the prototypes at SHOT, and was duly impressed with the features of these top-of-the-line cases,” Koenig says. “They are going to be the top choice for professionals like me along with anyone else who demands perfection in safe and secure firearms storage and transportation,” he concludes.
“We designed the new Field Locker Mil-Spec cases to exceed the demanding needs of military and law enforcement professionals,” says Plano Product Engineer, Mike Franklin. “These cases represent the largest investment our company has made in any new product launch in our 60-plus year history,” he continues. “We believe they are the finest, most durable gun cases you can own.”
The competitively priced line of premium quality Plano Field Locker Mil-Spec cases will begin shipping to retailers early this summer, and will round out the top end of the company’s gun case product lineup – an impressive, industry-leading assortment consisting of 72 unique models in 14 product lines.
