September
is snap jigging month over deep structure for MONSTER gills like this
one. This dandy ate a ¼ oz Aquatic Perch Echotail tipped off with a 2"
KALIN’S grub tail. Use a quality sensitive rod like a ST CROIX AVID X
for detecting deep strikes. We often set up “milk runs” using our
electronics to check deep structure for the highest concentrations of
fish packed into the smallest areas clinging to a specific spot. We will
often check up to 10 spots before ever dropping a blade. Once we decide
to start snap jigging, we then use the “Spot-Lock” feature to hover
directly over the school of fish.
