National Crappie League Wild Card Tournament at Lake Salamonie and Mississinewa Results

Tyler Sturgeon and Latin McKinney (Semi-Pro) and Tom Dubersky and David Willoughby (Amateur) Take Top Honors at the National Crappie League Wild Card Tournament at Lake Salamonie and Mississinewa

The National Crappie League visited Wabash, IN for the Wild Card tournament on May 17, 2025. Anglers faced temperatures in the upper 50s to upper 60s with mostly cloudy skies, but conditions remained favorable enough to locate cooperative fish throughout the day.

SEMI-PRO RESULTS

First Place – Semi-Pro:

Tyler Sturgeon and Latin McKinney took first place in the Semi-Pro Division tournament with a 6.72-pound limit of crappie.

Second Place – Semi-Pro:

Second place was James Lasswell and Clay Stanely with an 3.87-pound limit of crappie.

Third Place – Semi-Pro:

Patrick Stone and Robert McWhorter took third place with a 3.73-pound limit of crappie.

Big Fish – Semi-Pro:

Tyler Sturgeon and Latin McKinney took first place in the Big Fish portion of the tournament with a 1.83-pound fish and second went to James Lasswell with a 0.96-pound fish.

AMATEUR RESULTS

First Place – Amateur:

Tom Dubersky and David Willoughby took first place in the Amateur Division tournament with a 4.44-pound limit of crappie.

Second Place – Amateur:

Second place was Shane Dixon and Ryan Long with a 3.90-pound limit of crappie.

Third Place – Amateur:

James and Shawn Dean took third place with a 3.88-pound limit of crappie.

Fourth – Final – Amateur:

Jeff Bookwalter and Allen Reed took fourth with a 3.86-pound limit, Craig Robertson took fifth with a 3.84-pound limit, Jeff and Cindi Sharp took sixth with a 3.66-pound limit, Rick Balser and Luis Flores took seventh with a 3.48-pound limit, Phillip Kidwell and Gary Carpenter took eighth with a 2.85-pound limit, and finally Jason and Gordon Keen placed ninth with a 2.63-pound limit.

Big Fish – Amateur:

Shane Dixon and Ryan Long took first place in the Big Fish portion of the tournament with a 1.40-pound fish and second went to Craig Robertson with a 1.23-pound fish.
