I hit a new-to-me lake yesterday in an attempt to get away from the 15 to 25 mph gusts and do a little exploring. The goal was to learn a new, small dark water lake and see if I could put Sunday night’s dinner in the Lund boat livewell. The wind was blowing right down the center of the lake, so boat control would have been tough if not for my Minn Kota Untrex Spot Lock feature. If you have not yet experienced Minn Kota Spot Lock, you are missing out on the most amazing boat control tool I have seen. The fishing was good, no big crappies but a large number of 8″ to 10″ crappies made it into the boat.
