Z-Man® Project Z ProFileZ: Captain James Dumas

Ladson, SC (October 29, 2020) – Every angler dreams of living the life. You know, that certain unapologetic, nonconformist style to simply go and hang out around biting fish. To live there for a while. Soak up the local vibe. And figure out all the interesting quirks of the local fishery—at least until it’s time to check out the next adventure.

“I used to look at maps and just try to discover new untouched places where I thought it would be cool to go fish,” admits Z-Man pro, Captain James Dumas. “After high school, I lived in 42 different places. California. Belize. Costa Rica. The Northeast. About 20 years ago, I settled down around St. Augustine, Florida and started guiding on the relatively untouched local waterway.”

A Z-Man Fishing TV exclusive, Project Z: ProFileZ takes you on the water with the folks who count on Z-Man Fishing Products daily as tournament anglers, guides, and industry professionals. Take a trip with us to our ProZ’ home waters to learn their stories and how they’ve ended up where they are today—as well as why they rely on Z-Man baits day-in and day-out.

In this episode, Captain James Dumas of Drum Man Charters takes you on a fun little tour of his local inshore hangouts. Along the way, he drops knowledge on the idiosyncrasies of ultra-shallow gamefish—and even divulges his sort-of-secret sight-fishing technique.
