“I look for the steepest areas along creek channels, or the outside bends of channels. Then, I scan for the highest concentrations of bait.

“My most consistent are a Strike King 6XD in a shad pattern or a ¾-ounce jigging spoon.”

Gerald Swindle

“Smith Lake in Alabama is an awesome winter lake. My favorite way to fish it is with a 3/8-ounce Ballin’ Out Jig by Buckeye, brown in color. I’ll put a green pumpkin Zoom twin tail on it and tie it to 16-pound Shooter flouro line and cast around deeper docks, working brushpiles.”

Josh Bertrand

“I like fishing Roosevelt Lake in Arizona. A ½-ounce BPS football jig with a Berkley Chigger Craw trailer is tough to beat. I drag it real slow on rocks and along deep breaks and points.”

Luke Clausen

“My favorite winter place is actually about as far as I can get from my home. It’s Lake Okeechobee.

“In the winter, it’s so fun to fish. I throw a ½-ounce green pumpkin Project Z Chatter Bait paired with a green pumpkin Diesel Minnow.”

Brandon Palaniuk

“I look for long, flat points that have a good steep drop on one side. Any added structure is a bonus.

“Typically, I target these areas with blade baits or a Zoom Z-Drop on a drop shot to start off.”
