Asking somebody what they would do in various situations continues to bring out some of the funniest responses, and highlights the ethics involved at the highest level of professional fishing.
In this addition of What Would You Do?, FLW Tour pro Scott Martin opens up and answers BassFIRST’s questions.

DL – What would you do if a company offered you a big-dollar contract to use their product, only problem is, you’ve never used it before?

SM – This is a business, so when a big contract is offered, you need to take a look at it. I’d likely make the effort to utilize the product to my benefit as a tournament pro. If it’s something that I just have no passion about, then it won’t work for me.
I do believe you need to give it your best effort and see if there is something novel or unique about the product that will help, but again, if there is no passion, it just won’t work.
DL – What would you do if you are fishing the Forrest Wood Cup on the final day and see the tournament leader fishing in an off limits area?

SM – I would approach the angler and tell him he’s in the wrong and that he needs to call the tournament director while I am next to him.
This way everything is handled properly. Nothing worse than not saying anything followed by all the rumors that would start.
DL – What would you do if you found a bag filled with 10 million dollars cash while you were eating at a Waffle House?

SM – I’d buy the FLW!
