Weather Adjustments Happening Today in Knockout Round at Bass Pro Tour Phoenix Boats Stage Five Presented by Mercury

CULLMAN, Ala. (May 4, 2019, 8:45 a.m. CT) – Inclement weather has forced the adjustment of competition timing on Smith Lake at the Bass Pro Tour Phoenix Boats Stage Five Presented by Mercury. Because of a severe lightning-bearing storm cell that moved through Northern Alabama early Saturday morning, the following changes in competition schedule have been implemented by Major League Fishing®:

Competition began at 8:00 a.m. CT: The 40 competing anglers were delayed at the ramp while the cell passed through, leaving the dock at Smith Lake Park at 7:30 a.m. CT and starting competition at 8:00 a.m. CT.

Competition structure will remain the same: The intent is for the full Knockout Round to be contested, with three full 2 ½-hour periods. Period breaks are now as follows: 10:30 a.m., 1:15 p.m.; end of competition/lines out at 4 p.m. CT.

Weather updates/breaks are possible: If conditions become bad enough at any point in the competition day, the 40 anglers, officials and cameramen can call for a stop in the action. If that request is confirmed, the anglers will be given a “lines out” time until the weather has passed. At that time, lines will go back in and competition will resume.

MLF NOW! live stream to begin at 9 a.m. CT: The MLF NOW! live stream will begin at 9 a.m. CT as previously scheduled. Timing of the Berkley Postgame Show has not yet been determined. Updates will be available at www.MajorLeagueFishing.com and on Major League Fishing’s social media.
