While many tournament anglers are still pitching and flipping throughout the country, professional bass anglers like Mercury pro Jimmy Houston are done for the season, at least as far as the professional tournaments go.

While driving to film a television show, Jimmy took a few moments to steel himself and to step up to the plate and take his best swings at Three Questions.

DL – Would you rather live in Mexico or Alaska?

JH – Without a doubt Mexico. I mean I love Alaska. It is a magical place. It is like visiting a postcard. The beauty is astounding. But I can fish 12 months out of the year in Mexico. Some huge bass in those lakes.

Plus, I don’t speak Spanish, so I can’t get in too much trouble.

DL – Given a choice, would you be a pro golfer or baseball player?

JH – I love baseball. I am a huge Los Angeles Dodgers fan. I’m not a great fan of professional golf. I’ve had the chance to meet many PGA (Professional Golfers’ Association) golfers over the years, even won a celebrity event with Payne Stewart. He may have helped a little bit.

That all said, I’d choose golf. They play in perpetual 70 degree weather. When its 40 degrees in Oklahoma they are playing in Hawaii. When its 110 degrees in Oklahoma they are somewhere up north playing.

Baseball players are also busy all summer and hardly get to fish. I know pro golfers who take a fishing rod with them during their practice rounds and fish the ponds.

DL – Do you prefer steaks or dessert?

JH – I’ve eaten enough steak at times where I was too stuffed to have any dessert. I love a good steak, but I believe I’d have to choose dessert.

Sugar is good for you, that’s why God invented kisses.
