Bryan Thrift is certainly one the finest pro anglers to ever fish the FLW Tour. The Abu Garcia pro has dozens of Top-10 finishes in the organization, two Angler of the Year (AOY) titles and many wins. Thrift has won millions of dollars fishing with the FLW organization, plus has a Texas Bass Classic win on his resume. You get the idea, he’s one of the best-of-the-best.
However, what one thing hasn’t Thrift accomplished yet in pro bassing? Thrift has yet to conquer the daunting and often life-changing Three Questions from BassFIRST.com. Did Thrift finally conquer the pinnacle of bassy greatness? Read on and find out.

Bryan Thrift. (Joel Shangle/BassFIRST)
DL – What one fishing technique or lure do you wish would work every time you fish?

BT – Topwater. Specifically a walking bait. Man, if that worked all year and everywhere, that would be great. Throw that thing out there with braid over flats and grass and use monofilament when you target- fish things like docks.
DL – What is your favorite fish to catch?

BT – This is going to sound cliche for a bass fisherman, but smallmouth bass. They just fight so hard and I don’t get to fish them that often where I live.
DL – Do you prefer steak or dessert?

BT – Steak, no questions asked. It’s just better. I can eat a 20-ounce steak, no way I’m gonna eat a 20-ounce piece of cake.
I like bone-in steaks. When you’re done with the main part you can gnaw on the bone like an animal. I’ve been on a lamb chop kick lately too. Season that meat with some salt and pepper or some garlic and onion powder with some Montreal seasoning. Steak is so good.
