Welcome to the last Three Questions from BassFIRST article for 2015. Yep, several pro bass anglers have taken the chance over the last few months to brave such a clearly challenging interrogation. All have survived thus far.
Closing out the year for Three Questions is a former Bassmaster Classic winner Yamaha pro Alton Jones, who has taken home over two million smackers from B.A.S.S.
Alton took a few moments to chat with BassFIRST while he was mentally preparing to spend Christmas in Costa Rica fishing with his family. Of course, his Costa Rican trip all hangs by a thread if he can’t survive answering Three Questions!
DL – What is your favorite movie?
AJ – The Princess Bride. I love that film. I can recite the whole thing. The one-liners are classic. It is so funny. It’s so fun to watch with friends. It’s one of those movies that’s so stupid you’ve got to laugh.

My favorite is when Andre the Giant’s character Fezzik is responding to the Man in Black about fighting and says ‘It’s not my fault being the biggest and the strongest. I don’t even exercise.’ You’ve got to watch it. So funny.
DL – What is your favorite host town for a tournament?
AJ – I’d say Waddington, New York. It is such a small community. They really appreciate having a major sporting event like the Bassmaster Elite Series in their town.
The folks are just so kind and excited to have us there. Though, I doubt I’d feel like visiting in the middle of January. Just a bit cold I’d guess.
DL – Do you prefer steak or desserts?
AJ – Steaks. More specifically a good ribeye. Don’t get me wrong, I like desserts fine, I just love steaks.
On the Elite Series there is all of this talk about Terry Scroggins having skills on the grill. Well, I’d go head-to-head with him anytime. I’m an award winning griller here in Texas.
Three out of the four years I entered the Heart of Texas Celebrity Cook-off, I won. There are hundreds of judges. I can take Scroggins. We can both bring our Green Eggs and have a grill-off.
Once you have one of my grilled ribeyes, you won’t need dessert.
