The 2015 BoatUS Collegiate Bass Fishing Championship location set for Florence, AL

The 2015 BoatUS Collegiate Bass Fishing Championship event is set for another action packed week in Florence, Alabama during the week of May 17-22. Registration for the championship event is now open.

As the fourth consecutive year in Florence, many collegiate anglers are excited to get back to compete on one of the greatest bodies of water in the country. The 43,000 acre stretch of the Tennessee River is home to some of the best smallmouth and largemouth fishing in the nation making the lake a great location for collegiate anglers looking to target either species.

Florence is home to not only a great fishing community, but the city offers an abundance of activities for those interested in experiencing the local culture. In just a short period of time this event has become recognized as the largest event in college fishing in several areas.

Florence Lauderdale Tourism 

“We at Florence Lauderdale Tourism are very excited to bring the 2015 BoatUS Collegiate Bass Fishing Championship presented by Cabela’s back to Pickwick Lake for the fourth year.  Premier college bass anglers will be celebrating the 10th Anniversary of this awesome event.  Over 100 colleges will be represented by incredible ambassadors for their Universities,” said Suzie Shoemaker, Sports Marketing and Special Events Director at Florence/Lauderdale Tourism.

“Florence, Alabama has been a phenomenal host of the BoatUS Collegiate Bass Fishing Championship for the last four years and we plan on continuing this streak for many more years,” said the President of CarecoTV and Director of the Association of Collegiate Anglers, Wade Middleton. “McFarland Park has been an excellent venue to host our championship and a tournament of this magnitude and it’s been a great partnership for all parties.”

The Championship tournament will take place on May 21st and 22nd, however official practice will begin on Sunday, May 17. The weeklong event will host several major events such as the Yamaha Angler Appreciation night, Registration Banquet at the Marriot Shoals and of course, on the water fishing action.

Registration for the 2015 BoatUS Collegiate Bass Fishing Championship event is open and will remain open until Monday, May 11. The following events are also open for registration and are scheduled for the following dates:

· Collegiate Bass Fishing Open 

        – April 17-19, 2015-Lake Chickamauga-Dayton,TN

· Collegiate Bass Texas Shootout 

        – April 25-26, 2015 – Lake Texoma – Denison, TX
