Kennesaw, GA (July 14, 2021) SPRO® is committed to designing the world’s finest fishing tackle for America’s best anglers. This past weekend, SPRO angler Bryan Schmitt capped off the win of the Guaranteed Rate Bassmaster Elite at Lake Champlain. For Schmitt, it was landing a 3.5 lb smallmouth 15 minutes before the final weigh-in to secure the lead. With a total of 78 pounds, 5 ounces, Schmitt held off all competitors.

Over the course of the tournament, Schmitt caught many key fish on SPRO’s Spin John 80, designed by fellow Elite Series angler, John Crews. The Spro Spin John 80 features a special chin underneath the bait to increase water resistance, as well as, two swivels incorporated into the line tie and the back hook hanger, which causes the bait to rock back and forth and generate a heavy body rolling action. The bait has a pair of counter-rotating blades that produce a subtle flash and vibration, which is key to triggering lethargic fish into biting as well.

Schmitt relies on SPRO’s cutting-edge technology and versatile arsenal of baits to keep him prepared on the water all year long. From hard baits, soft baits, terminal, jigs and gear, SPRO has anglers covered no matter the season or pursuit.

“SPRO is incredibly proud of Bryan and the way he performed and conducted himself this past weekend,” said Syd Rives, Marketing Director for SPRO. “He overcame challenges and persisted until the very end to secure the win. We’re very excited about this win for him and his family and are confident that he and other BASS anglers like him will continue to be solid ambassadors for our sport and brand.”
