There will be much more than the B.A.S.S. Elite anglers testing their skills on Lake Texoma during BASSfest in Durant, Okla. this weekend. In addition to an extensive display of Shimano tackle, the ‘Shimano Garage’ will be on-site providing free basic maintenance and cleaning to your Shimano baitcasting reels – limit one baitcasting reel per angler – during the Outdoor Expo taking place at the Choctaw Casino. The ‘Shimano Garage’ will be open starting at 10am on Friday and Saturday, June 10 and 11, and at noon on Sunday, June 12.

“Just like the standard maintenance done on your vehicle – oil change, tire rotation, top off fluids, etc., basic maintenance on your fishing reels will keep them ‘running well’ for years,” said Shimano service tech manager Doug Bouse. “We’ll give your reel a thorough cleaning along with applying the right oil and grease where needed, bringing your reel as close as we can to fresh out-of-the-box performance. Plus our crew will share a few ideas on what you can do to your reels throughout the season so they continue to perform as you expect from Shimano.”

And for those attending the event on Sunday, don’t miss Shimano’s Best Bassin’ Dad Search. One lucky dad will receive ‘VIP” treatment prior to the final weigh-in, including talking with Bassmaster emcee Dave Mercer on stage while sitting in the current leader ‘Hot Seat,’ photos with Shimano pros and a long list of gifts from both Shimano and B.A.S.S. Stop by the Shimano exhibit to enter – the drawing will take place at 2:15pm and the winner must be present to win.

After its debut at the Bassmaster Classic in Tulsa last March, the Shimano Garage has been part of select Shimano Experience Team stops at tackle shows, dealer open house events, and other B.A.S.S. and Big Bass Tour tournaments.
