The 2010 Bassmaster Elite Series got underway today with the first stopof eight on the California Delta.  Native Californian and 2007 Deltawinner Aaron Martens reaggravated a leg injury that stints back to theClassic two weeks ago.

“This is the worst injury I’ve ever had in my life, “Martens said, “I can’t believe how much it hurts.  I can’t even walk–I have to hop on one leg.

Martens believes his injury originally occurred while he was leaning into the trolling motor at last month’s Classic at Lay Lake while he was bucking high winds.  His injury is affecting his lower leg, from behind his knew around to his shin.

He said he’s been able to stand on his trolling motor all week, but was afraid he’s going to be limited to his butt seat the whole tournament.

“Part of what I do best is move quickly and efficiently, but I’m not going to be able to torque it at all, “he said.  “I guess I’m going to have to try to take it as positive and maybe fish more methodical.  That’s what I’m telling myself, anyway.”
