With grit, confidence, and a flipping stick in hand, Wes Logan secured his second career Bassmaster Elite Series victory at the Lowrance Bassmaster Elite at Lake Tenkiller, totaling 63 pounds even across four days to edge out Andrew Loberg by a single ounce in dramatic fashion. Logan delivered a Championship Sunday performance for the ages, weighing the biggest bag of the day at 16-14, anchored by a 5-1 largemouth that earned Phoenix Boats Big Bass of the Day honors. It was the kind of shallow-water, cover-picking performance Logan has built his career on — and one made possible by his go-to line choice: 22-pound Sunline Shooter fluorocarbon. “Every fish I caught that mattered came flipping with 22-pound Shooter,” Logan said. “That line gives me the confidence to pitch into thick cover, lean on them hard, and not worry about what’s going to happen next. It’s the best there is.” Fishing mainly on the upper end of Lake Tenkiller, Logan focused on flooded bushes, shallow cover, and one standout laydown that produced more than a dozen key bites. His primary setup was a 1/2-ounce Ark Randall Tharp Signature Flipping Jig paired with a Zoom Salty Chunk, flipped on a 7’6” Ark Wes Logan Signature FAFO Flipping Stick and spooled with Sunline Shooter. On Championship Sunday, he also leaned on a punch rig built with a 1/2-ounce Ark tungsten weight and a green pumpkin Zoom Z Hog to coax key bites from matted debris. Logan opened the tournament in 11th place with 14-12, climbed to 5th on Day 2 with 15-13, and sat 3rd after Semifinal Saturday thanks to a 15-9 limit. But it was a final-day flurry, including a 3-pound smallmouth in the morning and clutch late-day culls from his favorite laydown, that sealed the deal. “That tree saved me,” Logan said. “I went to it multiple times and just kept getting bites. When it’s meant to be, it’s meant to be — and Sunline helped make sure every one of those bites made it into the boat.” Logan’s consistency and commitment to power fishing paid off in spades at Tenkiller, a lake that saw fluctuating water levels and stormy conditions throughout the event. His comfort in changing water, combined with his confidence in Sunline, allowed him to fish aggressively and capitalize on every opportunity. Each morning, Logan started around marinas targeting shad spawn activity with a Z-Man JackHammer Chatterbait, also spooled on Sunline, before heading to his key flipping stretches. His final limit included a late 2-13 largemouth that replaced a 2-11 — an upgrade that ultimately made the winning difference. “This win means everything,” Logan said. “To do it flipping shallow with Shooter in my hands, on Father’s Day, and fishing the way I love to fish — that’s what it’s all about.”

With two Elite trophies now on his mantle — the first coming in 2021 at Neely Henry — Logan reasserted himself as a shallow-water force. And once again, Sunline Shooter proved itself under the highest pressure, one fish and one flip at a time.
