The final day of the Mississippi River Rumble got underway this morning to nearly identical conditions as the prior three days.  The field was cut from 50 yesterday to the Top 12 today.

Leader Todd Faircloth help a 12 ounce lead going out yesterday but found himself clinging to a 7 ounce lead going out today.  Aaron Martens said he left his fish yesterday catching them one after another and felt very confident about his game plan today knowing he didn’t need to let up at all.

Both Todd and Aaron said, they’d need to catch’em good today but if they could hit that 18-pound mark, they’d feel pretty comfortable considering only one bag over 18 came in prior to today.

The one major deal that many anglers have been talking about is the Mayfly hatch.  Here is a photo from a local gas station.  This shows there is no doubt a Mayfly hatch happened!
