Combs junk fishing

“I’m just catching a few,” said Combs. “I know it looks good right now, but it was hard. I had four hours between bites. Time was ticking. Things worked out. I was fishing on past knowledge. I was junk fishing, that’s all.”

TTBC has been on Combs’ mind all season

“I’ve thought about this tournament everyday this year,” said Combs. “I wanted to get back here to see if I could win another one. I’ve had an awesome season. A win here would really cap my season. Just look who is fishing here. If you can beat them you can beat anybody.”

Powroznik pumped for finale.

“I tell you, today was pretty fun,” said Powroznik. “On about my tenth cast I landed a 5-pounder. I thought this day was maybe heading in the right direction. Funny thing, a little later I pulled up on a spot where I caught a 6-pounder the other day and I told the camera boats I was gonna catch an 8-pounder today. Then it happened. Who knows, it could happen again tomorrow.”

Powroznik’s big bass of the day weighed 8.56 pounds.
