Bassmaster Elite at Lake Guntersville, Alabama, April 9-12

B.A.S.S., the world’s largest fishing organization, will host the Diet Mountain Dew Bassmaster Elite at Lake Guntersville, April 9-12, in Guntersville, Ala., the second of nine Bassmaster Elite Series professional bass fishing tournaments scheduled in 2015.

The tournament will mark the 23rd time B.A.S.S. has held a professional event on the lake, including the 2014 GEICO Bassmaster Classic presented by Diet Mountain Dew and GoPro. The tournament pits 113 of the top bass anglers in the world against one another, including Casey Ashley, the newly crowned champion of the 2015 GEICO Bassmaster Classic presented by GoPro, and fishing superstar Kevin VanDam as they compete for the $100,000 first-place prize.

Among those vying for the win are 18 Alabama anglers – Boyd Duckett (Guntersville), Kevin Hawk (Guntersville), Matt Herren (Ashville), Tim Horton (Muscle Shoals), Randy Howell (Springville), Kelley Jaye (Dadeville), Steve Kennedy (Auburn), Kotaro Kiriyama (Moody), Chris Lane (Guntersville), Russ Lane (Prattville), Jordan Lee (Vinemont), Matt Lee (Auburn), Justin Lucas (Guntersville), Aaron Martens (Leeds), Keith Poche (Pike Road), Derek Remitz (Grant), Gerald Swindle (Warrior), and Greg Vinson (Wetumpka).

From watching the first boats launch at 6:15 a.m. on Thurs., April 9, to the winning weigh-in announcement at Guntersville City Harbor on Sunday at 3 p.m., all of the family-friendly activities planned throughout the weekend are free and open to the public, including:

3 p.m. Official semi-finals weigh-in starts at Guntersville City Harbor

The Elite Series Expo will have B.A.S.S. sponsor representatives onsite throughout the weekend with activities, games and prizes for attendees. Companies like Mercury, Nitro, Skeeter, Triton, and Yamaha will be set up at the Expo and will be offering demo rides. Toyota, Minn Kota, Humminbird, Livingston Lures, A.R.E. Truck Caps, Carhartt, Dick Cepek Tires and Wheels, Lowrance, Huk, Power-Pole, Shimano and Rigid Industries will also be exhibiting at the Expo.

Other activities planned throughout the Bassmaster Elite at Lake Guntersville weekend include the opportunity to speak with Elite Series pros, angler autograph and photo sessions, and the chance to learn tips and techniques from some of the best bass anglers in the world. Also, on Saturday teen anglers can take part in the B.A.S.S. High School Elite Experience presented by Costa.
