BASS, in conjunction with Hope for the Warriors, has invited 12 wounded heroes to attend the Bassmaster Elite Series Postseason and take part in all of the festivities surrounding the marquee event.  The 12 wounded veterans will enjoy a jam-packed weeklong schedule, which will be highlighted by a fishing exhibition on Tuesday, July 27 with each of the Bassmaster Elite Series Postseason competitors.

In addition to the special competition – which will occur during an off-day for the Elite anglers – the wounded veterans will be treated to a $200 Bass Pro Shops gift card to be used in the Prattville Bass Pro.  There, on Monday, July 26, veterans will be paired up with a Postseason competitor followed by dinner at the Islamorada Fish Company located in the Bass Pro Shops Prattville location.  Each veteran will also receive a special tournament jersey created by Gemini Sport Marketing.

The exhibition will occur at The Waters, a Pike Road-based community that features trophy-bass fishing waters.

“BASS has such a deep gratitude for these individuals and their service,” said Tom Ricks, vice president and general manager, BASS.  “We hope that they have a first-rate experience.”

The City of Montgomery, which will host the second leg of the Postseason on the Alabama River on July 30-31, will also give their support to the wounded warriors and to Hope For The Warriors®.  On Saturday, July 31, Montgomery has planned a Wing Festival with proceeds going to Hope For The Warriors®.  Each wounded hero will be called onto the Bassmaster Elite Series stage and honored.

“The City of Montgomery has a strong affinity with the armed services,” said Todd Strange, mayor of Montgomery.  “We are pleased for the opportunity to honor those who have given so much sacrifice to not only our community, but our nation.”

The mission of Hope For The Warriors® (www.hopeforthewarriors.org) is to enhance quality of life for U.S. service members and their families nationwide who have been adversely affected by injuries or death in the line of duty. Hope For The Warriors® actively seeks to ensure that the sacrifices of wounded and fallen warriors and their families are never forgotten nor their needs unmet.

“Both the staff and our warriors are excited for the upcoming tournament,” said Tina Atherall, Executive Vice President of Hope For The Warriors®.  “This is a great opportunity that has only been made possible because of the caring people associated with BASS and the City of Montgomery.”

The Postseason, Toyota Trucks Championship Week, is set for July 24-31 and will be played out once again on two productive Alabama fisheries. The first leg, the July 24-25 Ramada Trophy Chase, returns to Lake Jordan out of Wetumpka. The finale, the Evan Williams Bourbon Trophy Triumph, is slated for July 30-31 on the Alabama River from Montgomery.  Below is the complete list of anglers competing in the Postseason.
