Anglers and Detectorists Unite: We’re All Treasure Hunters

Minelab to attend 2021 Bassmaster Classic Outdoors Expo in Fort Worth, June 11-13

Chicago, IL (June 2, 2021) – Competitive fishing’s grandest event is coming to Fort Worth, Texas. The 2021 Academy Sports + Outdoors Bassmaster Classic presented by Huk will take place on Lake Ray Roberts, June 11-13.

In addition to the world’s top bass anglers competing for the biggest title and payout in competitive bass fishing, the three-day event is expected to draw more than 100,000 fans and spectators – fishing and outdoors enthusiasts traveling to Fort Worth from across the country to cheer on their favorite anglers, participate in the festivities, and attend the Bassmaster Classic Outdoors Expo.

The 2021 Bassmaster Classic Outdoors Expo, held at the Will Rogers Memorial Center in Fort Worth, has grown into one of the largest consumer fishing shows in the country, featuring over 200 exhibitors from around the world on-site and catering to the varied passions of attending outdoors fanatics. Metal detecting – or treasure hunting – is one of those passions. It’s a wildly fun, healthy, and rewarding outdoors activity that is popular with millions of Americans who already spend time outdoors fishing, hunting, camping, or hiking, especially those with an appreciation for history. No doubt, metal detecting is a natural fit with the outdoors lifestyle and is rapidly growing in popularity.

Minelab, the world leader in metal-detecting technologies, will be exhibiting its latest products at this year’s Bassmaster Classic Outdoors Expo in Fort Worth. “We never stop looking for new opportunities to engage with our passionate and energetic customers,” says Minelab Senior Vice-President, General Manager for Americas, Europe, and Russia, Ben Harvey. “We know that many detectorists are also anglers, and we well understand the reasons for that,” Harvey continues. “The Bassmaster Classic Outdoors Expo is an excellent opportunity for us to connect with our existing customers, while meeting and speaking with folks who may have an interest in detecting but have never given it a try. We’re really looking forward to getting down to Fort Worth and having fun showing people how easy it is to get started in the hobby with our rugged, reliable, and cutting-edge technologies.”

Most fishing fans attending the Bassmaster Classic aren’t competitive anglers; they are simply passionate about the activity because of the personal joy and satisfaction it provides. “Metal detecting is much the same,” says Minelab Vice President of Global Marketing, Michelle Meyers. “People love detecting because of the enjoyment it brings, and we’re very proud to deliver the top-performing products in the category that help all levels of detectorists experience more success and satisfaction. Just as a great fishing rod increases performance and results on the water, our Minelab metal detector ranges such as Vanquish, Equinox, and GPX, along with models like the Gold Monster 1000 and CTX 3030, deliver performance advantages out there in the field that make looking for and finding treasure even easier and a whole lot more fun.”

The Minelab Team invites Bassmaster Classic fans and attendees to come see them at booth #2265 at the Bassmaster Classic Outdoors Expo, June 11-13. A full range of Minelab detectors will be on display, and in addition to talking with Minelab’s knowledgeable product experts, visitors to the booth can also pick up a free Minelab multifunction headwear and sign up to win a Minelab Vanquish 340 or Equinox 600 metal detector.
