The growth of high school, competitive fishing has grown significantly over the past few years. Berkley continues to assist with the growth through the Berkley High School Fishing Club. With two years under its belt, the club has grown in popularity and year three is slated to be the best yet.
As a grand prize, fishing teams can win $4000 in fishing product from Berkley and/or Abu Garcia and an awards ceremony at the winning school that includes the presentation of the Berkley 1st place trophy. All it takes is participating in challenges at http://hs.berkley-fishing.com/about/.
Student anglers are encouraged to join the Berkley team in order to earn prizes that further their fishing exploits. Coaches can participate as well, signing up their team to compete and participate in challenges will gain points for their team. It doesn’t matter how anglers are affiliated with fishing. Whether a member on a team at school or part of a junior fishing league there’s a place on the Berkley team.
This program isn’t only for teams. Individuals can compete and earn points for themselves. Berkley has made it easy for teams and individuals alike to compete in a fun atmosphere.
Anglers simply sign up and start competing to begin earning points and winning prizes. Challenges may be as easy as watching a video or answering a few basic questions. Youth are able to upload their daily catch and connect with anglers across the country, making it a completely interactive program.
“I can’t think of an easier way to make fishing both a challenge and fun. This year, the challenges are more fun and the prizes are bigger than years past,” said Roxanne Coleman, Sr. Field Marketing Manager, Berkley Fishing. “Young anglers have an opportunity to earn big rewards, including a scholarship for the college-bound angler and Student Angler of the Year. Club members can earn free products while enjoying the sport of fishing.”
