ORLANDO, Fla. (July 11, 2016) – Lew’s opens ICAST 2016 this week with what the company says is its most exciting and innovative new product lineup ever, anchored by SLP Super Low Profile baitcast reels and new rod technology.

The all-new Team Lew’s Custom Pro Speed Spool SLP is Lew’s lowest profile reel ever. The compact SLP design features a premium 11-bearing system, innovative small diameter 32mm spool, Winn knobs and other top-of-the-line features. (Click to enlarge/download)

“Lew’s invented low profile reels and our new SLP engineering gives us our lowest profile models yet,” said Lew’s President Gary Remensnyder. “Their small diameter 32mm spool starts and accelerates fast. The compact design provides superior handling of light lines and lures, yet gives up nothing in overall performance.”

The new SLP series includes the Team Lew’s Custom Pro, Custom, Tournament Lite G and Mach Speed Spools. The company’s 2017 focus hasn’t been just on reels though; new Lew’s rods also showcase the brand’s technology and construction advances.

The new Team Lew’s Custom Pro Series rods feature Lew’s exclusive LFS-X5 Nano Technology. The “5” designation represents the 5 different materials used in construction of the innovative lightweight design with exceptional strength and sensitivity. Custom actions are technique driven. (Click to enlarge/download)

“We’ve invested significant time, money and effort in rod development in recent years and we’re excited to show the results this week,” said Lew’s CEO Lynn Reeves. “Our Team Lew’s Custom Pro rod series is without a doubt our finest ever. And the quality IM8 graphite rods matched up in our Mach II combos benefit from some of that same Nano construction technology, plus have Winn Dri-Tec split grips.
