Al’s Goldfish Lure Company to be Featured on Lure Love Podcast

ELIOT, Maine (Jan. 25, 2022) — Al’s Goldfish Lure Company, designer and American-made manufacturer of the classic Goldfish lure and other innovative fishing lures and accessories, will be featured on the January 27 episode of the Lure Love Podcast. Lure Love is the only fishing podcast solely focused on artificial lures and covers both vintage lure history as well as modern lure innovations.

“When we learned that Al’s Goldfish Lure Company was celebrating its 70th anniversary, we knew we had to feature them on the podcast,” said Tim “Tackle Box” Bete, co-host along with John “Crappie Hippie” King and Lucy the Lure-matic Computer. (Lure Love is the only fishing podcast with a supercomputer as a co-host.)

“Al’s is impressive because the brand has remained a legendary fish catcher for seven decades,” said Bete. “Lure brands come and go, but Al’s has truly stood the test of time.”

The podcast interview with husband and wife owners, Jeff and Mandy DeBuigne, covers the history of the Al’s flagship lure and the company, manufacturing processes, retrieval techniques, a few large fish stories, and fan testimonials Bete and King gathered for the episode.

“This is a very exciting time for Al’s,” said Mandy and Jeff. “Not only are we celebrating 70 years, but we are seeing great growth and are looking forward to expanding our lines in the coming years.”

Jeff and Mandy’s plans for the future of the company is to bring the brand’s name back to global recognition. Today, many of the improvements made during Al’s history are still maintained. The Goldfish lures are still made of solid marine brass, are plated by a jewelry-plater and individually hand-painted. All the gold lures are still plated in 22 karat gold, which makes them extremely shiny. They are then finished with top-quality components, so you don’t have to replace hooks and rings out of the package. All of Al’s lures are proudly made in the USA and backed with an “if you’re not satisfied, we’ll make it right by you” guarantee.

“It’s wonderful to see American lure craft still being practiced at Al’s,” said Bete. “The Lure Love Podcast motto is, ‘Why buy one lure when you can buy 103 — and if you’re going to buy 103 lures, make sure Al’s lures are among them.”

About Al’s Goldfish Lure Company
The company was launched in 1952 with a single pioneering spoon lure, known as Stuart’s Goldfish, named after founder Al Stuart. The company’s flagship lure was renamed Al’s Goldfish in 1954, and by 1973 the popularity of the Goldfish lure soared to nearly one million lures sold in a year. Along the way, other popular lures, such as the Forty-Niner and Helgy, and hook bonnet lure accessories were added to the company’s list of American-made products. In 2015 the line was expanded to include the Saltwater Goldfish series. In 2022, present owners Jeff and Mandy DeBuigne will celebrate the 70 year anniversary of the Goldfish lure. About the Lure Love Podcast
The Lure Love Podcast is the brainchild of John “Crappie Hippie” King and Tim “Tackle Box” Bete, along with Lucy the Lure-matic Computer. After meeting on the Fish Nerds Podcast, the three quickly realized they could talk for hours and hours about their passion for fishing lures, and the Lure Love Podcast was born. Whether chatting about new or vintage lures, they always deliver lure-mania with a sense of humor, and a realization that they may be hoarders when it comes to fishing tackle. In the end, Lure Love is just two fishing fanatics and a supercomputer answering the age-old question, “Why buy one fishing lure when you can buy 103?” Lure Love is the winner of two awards from the Association of Great Lakes Outdoor Writers and can be found at: www.LureLovePodcast.com.
