The best way to rig up a lead core\/<br \/>\n Tadpole combination is to designate a reel to be equipped with either 5<br \/>\n or 10 colors of lead core line, suitable amounts of backing material<br \/>\nand 30-50 feet of leader material.<br \/> Start by spooling on a<br \/>\n monofilament backing material. For walleye and other smaller species<br \/>\n10-15 pound test line is ideal for backing. For trout and salmon a<br \/>\nbacking of 20-25 pound test is recommended. Follow up by tying the<br \/>\nbacking material to either 18 or 27 pound test lead core line. For<br \/>\nwalleye trolling 18 pound test lead core is adequate. For trout and<br \/>\nsalmon select 27 pound test lead core line.<br \/> Spool on either five<br \/>\ncolors (165 feet) of lead core line or 10 colors (330 feet) and then add<br \/>\n a 30-50 foot fluorocarbon leader. For walleye fishing 15-17 pound test<br \/>\nfluo- rocarbon leader is ideal.
