The tournament, hosted by the Vance County Tourism Development Authority, was the season-opener for the Bass Fishing League Shenandoah Division. Trent earned $12,229, including the lucrative $7,000 Phoenix MLF Contingency Bonus, for his victory.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI started close to takeoff and started catching fish immediately,\u201d said Trent, who now has three Phoenix Bass Fishing League wins on Kerr Lake. \u201cI caught two good ones that I ended up weighing in, and I caught them off and on all day.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMost of the day I was fishing mid-lake targeting rock with a homemade green-pumpkin and orange jig and a Zoom Super Chunk Jr. trailer,\u201d added Trent.<\/p>\n<p>Trent was in the last flight and caught two of his biggest bass in the last hour of competition. He said he caught about 25 keepers over the course of the day. Both Atkins and Eng each received $203.<\/p>\n<p>The top 45 boaters and co-anglers in the region based on point standings, along with the five winners in each qualifying event, will be entered in the Oct. 20-22 Bass Fishing League Regional Championship on the James River in Richmond, Virginia. Boaters will compete for a top award of $60,000, including a new Phoenix 819 Pro with a 200-horsepower Mercury outboard and $10,000, while co-anglers will fish for a new Phoenix 819 Pro with a 200-horsepower Mercury outboard.<\/p>\n<p>The 2022 Phoenix Bass Fishing League Presented by T-H Marine is a 24-division circuit devoted to weekend anglers, with 128 tournaments throughout the season, five qualifying events in each division. The top 45 boaters and Strike King co-anglers from each division, along with the five winners of the qualifying events, will advance to one of six Regional Championships where they are competing to finish in the top six, which then qualifies them for one of the longest-running championships in all of competitive bass fishing \u2013 the Phoenix Bass Fishing League All-American.
