{"id":64632,"date":"2016-06-23T12:24:42","date_gmt":"2016-06-23T12:24:42","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/wpms.outdoorsfirst.com\/bass\/myhre-summertime-is-topwater-bassin-time\/"},"modified":"2016-06-23T12:24:42","modified_gmt":"2016-06-23T12:24:42","slug":"myhre-summertime-is-topwater-bassin-time","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.outdoorsfirst.com\/bass\/myhre-summertime-is-topwater-bassin-time\/","title":{"rendered":"MYHRE: Summertime is topwater bassin\u2019 time"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href='http:\/\/siouxcityjournal.com\/sports\/recreation\/myhre-summertime-is-topwater-bassin-time\/article_9eac9528-6ab3-5924-bf0e-3f7e07b804e6.html'>MYHRE: Summertime is topwater bassin\u2019 time<\/a><\/p>\n<div class=\"link_description\">\n<p>While 90-degree days under bright sunny skies with the countryside wrapped in sweltering humidity might not be the best time for chasing bass on top, it is certainly a good option.<\/p>\n<p>The explosion of submerged weeds in most of our bass waters is what triggers my desire to wrestle with chunky largemouths in the slop.<\/p>\n<p>You see, there are some bass, certainly not all in the lake, that will take up residence in the almost impenetrable jungle of aquatic growth.<\/p>\n<p>Winching them out of this boars\u2019 nest requires a whole new set of rods, reels, line, lures and just plain old elbow grease.<\/p>\n<p>Of course, you don\u2019t have to be in the middle of the equivalent of an aquatic cow pasture to successfully use topwater techniques. There\u2019s a period of time just before the weeds hit the surface that can be good too.
